EP letter to candidate for EC: You’ll have our support if you say “yes” to negotiations with Albania

Ursula von der Leyen is the candidate for the European Commission, but to take the highest jog in the EU, she must have the support of the European Parliament MPs.

The Social Democrats, the second biggest group in the EP, have handed Von Derl Leyen their agenda, asking her to support it if she gets elected. If she agrees, the Social Democrat MEPs will vote her.

Part of this agenda is also the opening of the EU accession negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia. Ursula von der Leyen has already declared that the door for Tirana and Skopje remains open.
