Environmentalists protest for National Park

A group of environmentalists protested against the construction works
made by the Municipality at the Tirana Artificial Lake Park, by cutting
many trees.
The environmentalists demand the works to stop, since they have not been approved by the Tirana Municipal Council, while the cutting of the ancient trees of the park and the destruction of the surrounding wall might damage Tirana’s only green area.
The protest was held at the construction site.
Most of Tirana’s green areas have been destroyed during the last decades and have been occupied by apartment buildings, making the Artificial Lake Park the only Green Area.
