Just before the tourist season, a considerable amount of crude oil was
spilled in the Narta beach for three kilometers, after a ship carrying
the material faced technical problems.
The Vice Mayor of Vlore, Ardian Musta, said that the ship has been fined with 1 million ALL and their activity was suspended until the coastline returns to normality.
The Minister of Environment, Lefter Koka, reacted with the pollution and said that the institutions have visited the site and took a series of measures.
The Minister said that the State Inspectorate of Environment and Forests has suspended the activity of the ship that was operating in the area and it was fined.
The Minister requested maximal commitment from the other structures for this environmental emergency.
