The shocking history of a girl that has been exploited in Lazarat,
together with the complete indifference of the Albanian state, was shown
tonight on Top Channel’s investigative program “Fiks Fare”.
An mother that was convicted to 14 years in prison asked to meet her daughter right after finishing serving her time. She had left her daughter 3 years old when she ended up in prison.
The mother from Lushnja learnt that now her daughter was being exploited in the marijuana plantations by her sister in law. The clear answer of the police is that they cannot enter Lazarat.
Together with Fiks Fare’s cameras, the mother showed the road that her daughter follows each day to the marijuana plantations.
“I’ve been looking for my daughter, and my sister in law is exploiting her for money in Lazarat. My daughter is a minor and that’s why I’m looking for your help”, declared the desperate mother at the police, documented by Top Channel’s cameras.
The police officer told the woman that at 17, the girl is not considered a minor anymore. He expressed his desire to do something, but he underlined that there are 5000 workers in Lazarat, and that would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.
A second police officer, without knowing that he was being filmed, declared that the police cannot enter Lazarat after 20:00.
“They told me that I can complain as much as I want, but no one gives me a solution”, the mother told Top Channel.
