Energy situation improved

The higher temperatures of the recent days have improved the energy
situation in the country. The recent data of the Albanian Energy
Corporation (KESH) show that the incoming water level has doubled.

The dam level, however, remains low, at 257.2 meters, but only this weekend it rose with 2 meters. KESH is currently producing 10 million KWhours a day, while the rest of the energy is secured by import.

The KESH leaders say that the regional energy market has also improved, after some Balkan countries decided to not import energy, due to the extraordinary situation. Albania imports around 12 million KW hours energy per day through KESH and CEZ, the energy distribution company. KESH says that they will keep the import at this level, for protecting the domestic reserve, with the hope that the situation will be improved.
