Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Parliamentary Commission of the Productive Activities is discussing a
law that obliges merchants that consume energy or that influence its
consumption to provide detailed information about the energetic quantity
they consume.
“This confirmation will affect the consumers’ choice, for the products that have low energy consumption level, but on the other hand, it will affect the economic operators that decide efficient energy products in the market”, declared Ilir bano, a Democratic MP.
But the draft that is based on an EU directive has not established the list of products that will be obliged to have this information. This was one of the two concerns raised by the opposition.
“What is this law for, when there are no identified products and when there is no way or capacities to monitor them”, declared the Socialist MP, Eduard Shalsi.
The government representative at the Commission declared that the list of products will be planned by the European Commission and will then be turned into law.
“This list has not been made by the European Commission. We don’t have the capacities here for the work that will be made by the European Commission, who have experts from all member countries”, declared the government representative.
According to the law, they Ministry of Economy will be the one in charge for the inspection of the labels.
