The General Administrator of the Energy Corporation (OSHEE), Adrian
Cela, denied claims that his company has falsified financial indicators.
Cela said in an interview for Top Channel that the numbers proposed by the OSHEE are completely correct and certified by the international partners such as the World Bank and the IMF, which observe the company closely.
“We can make available all documents the company has with banks, the VAT documents, the monthly balance. Everything is verifiable”, Cela said for Top Channel.
According to Cela, the company has improved the financial indicators with a faster pace than the expectancies and the plan agreed with the World Bank.
“We had calculated that 2015 would have a small debt accumulation, but it was the contrary and we didn’t create any debt. For the first time the company closed the year with profit”, Cela said.
According to him, the company has huge financial needs for improving the damaged distribution network.
“The system requires 1.7 billion ALL of investments that can be implemented for at least 4 years. We are aware that we don’t have the 1.7 billion, and investments so far were done in areas with more consumption, with the philosophy that there may be more losses”, Cela continued.
OSHEE is the biggest company in our country and circulates 65.4 billion ALL in a year. This company has often been criticized by the opposition for non-transparent financial practices. Cela says the accusations are based in politics and the management of the company has simply improved.
