Elisabeta Gjoni questioned at the Prosecution

Elisabeta Gjoni is the last member of the Bank of Albania Supervisory
Council that was questioned by the police today. She was questioned not
only as one of the seven members in this council, but also as Deputy
Governor.

Gjoni, currently acting Governor of the Bank of Albania, was questioned by Prosecutor Ramadan Troci and the Judiciary Police officer, Elidon Hysenaj, about the legal initiatives undertaken for the Department of Emission, the legal and sub-legal acts that regulate the activity of this department, and about the orders and instructions given by the Bank for article 13 of the decision taken on February 22nd 2006.

Unofficial sources said for Top Channel that Mrs.Gjoni has reiterated that she only implemented the law and the regulation. When asked if the Supervisory Council is responsible about the situation created at the Department of Emission, she has reportedly answered that the responsibility is individual.

The former Deputy Governor has also stayed silent for the media. The Prosecution of Tirana is expected to make an analyze after questioning six members of the Supervisory Council, and come to an investigative conclusion if this structure is suspected or not for power abuse.
