The first edition of “The Voice of Italy” concluded with the triumph of
the Albanian singer, Elhaida Dani, winner of “The Great Prize” and “Best
New Artist Award” in the 9th Top Fest Edition, awarded by the “Dritan
Hoxha” Media Foundation, a voice that also left very strong impressions
in the summer tour “Summer Fest 2012”.
She was able to win with 70% of the public’s vote, after she had stunned them from her first appearance, and then always led the preference list for the entire show.
Elhaida climbed the victory steps with modesty, in all 13 weeks of this race, supported by her professor in this show, Riccardo Cocciante, with whom she will apparently keep collaborating. Not by chance he sang his famous song “Margherita” in a duet with Elhaida Dani, saying that this was the first time that he was singing that song with another person, since 1976, when he wrote it.
Yesterday Cocciante was thanked by the Shkoder Municipality, the birthplace of Elhaida. He wrote his newest song that was sang by Elhaida, telling her “I gave you a precious raw stone which you turned into a diamond”.
Elhaid earned the support of the Italian public very fast, as the voting showed. Elhaida greeted all her Albanian nationals with a message in Albanian.
