Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future 300 hundred people who serve their sentence in the Albanian prisons,
will benefit by an alternative form of detainment, that of electronic
supervision.
Albania will apply for this novelty of the British model, while the OSCE presence in Albania, Eugen Wollfarth, signed a memorandum with the Minister of Justice, Eduard Halimi, for the implementation of the electronic supervision. This means that the entire process will be followed by the OSCE experts.
“This is an important day, because this starts the ambitious reform of the Ministry of Justice for implementing the electronic supervision reform for the detainees. The initiation of this reform and its progress is being made through a memorandum with the OSCE presence in Albania. The Albanian government will use all financial sources that will be supported by the OSCE presence”, Halimi declared.
“As the OSCE presence in Albania, we see this as compensation to the Albanian people, for whom we are here. This is something that makes your country more modern, towards the EU integration. Certainly, based on the Constitution and the rule of law in Albania”, Wollfarth declared.
