Electricity price not to increase for three years

The Energy Regulation Entity (ERE) decided that the price for families will not increase for three years.
The Albanian Energy Corporation (KESH) demanded to increase prices 3.4 times more than the current, while the Energy Distribution CEZ Company proposed two versions, one that increased prices with 4.6% and one that left it unchanged, only if the government would pay its obligations to CEZ.
In fact, the price increase for KESH this time seemed like an indemnification for the last year’s decision, when the ERE reduced the price that this company used for selling energy to CEZ. This decision did find the government consent, and the ERE director, Bujar Nepravishta, was discharged right after it.
