Electoral College to review SP appeal on Thursday

The Electoral College will review this Thursday at 10:00 the appeal that the Socialist Party filed on July 2nd.

SP withdrew the appeal of June 30th and now is requesting the Electoral College to review the appeal made some days before. According to SP experts, the request of the Democratic Party for merging both requests in one was an attempt for endangering the process.

Socialist MP Damian Gjiknuri explained for the media that the legal battle for Tirana Municipality is not over yet.

“We expect the Electoral College to give the right decision, and we trust that the basis of our request for invalidation will be the core of the case. We have not backed off from our request for calling these elections as invalid. The other party is afraid to face the reality of the numbers”, Gjiknuri declared.

DP representatives Oert Bylykbashi declared that the Socialist Party is making its tactics for postponing this matter as much as possible.

“Our stance is that this process must end as soon as possible, because Tirana citizens must wait for the winner”, Bylykbashi declared.
