Elbasan murder, suspicions for retaliation

A 51-year-old father of three was found dead this morning, killed with firearm near the Elbasan-Metalurgji area.

Police suspect the murder is related to a very old conflict between the Capja and Sheme families, which caused a triple murder some months ago.

The 51-year-old is Sajmir Beqiri, brother of Gentian Beqiri, killed in 2012 and suspected as the killer of Sokol Capja in 2005. The mother of Gentian Beqiri accused the Capja family for the murder.

Police started an investigation against Florenc Capja, but the latter presented documents and footage from the Qafe Thana Customs showing that at the moment of the execution he had been to Macedonia.

Sajmir Beqiri was killed two months after an attack against the Capja family, which left three dead, Agron Capja, Ardit Sinakoli and Eno Bedalli, while three other members of the Capja family were wounded.

Police say they are investigating even other leads, since Beqiri was a person with a criminal past.
