The resources that supply the Elbasan Aqueduct have had a drastic
decrease of the water level, due to the drought, causing serious lack of
water in the city, to the point that the 130.000 residents could remain
without water.
This concern has been raised by the Aqueduct Director, who appeals the consumers to save on drinking water, adding that the Aqueduct will interrupt water supply periodically, not only for the consumers, but also for the public administrations, such as hospitals, schools and kindergartens.
This is the most critical situation in the last 20 years. This situation has never been repeated, and even the wells are in critical levels. As first measure, we will reduce the water supply for the city”, director Ardian Zhidro declared.
