The Kosovo Chamber of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have
signed a cooperation memorandum through which they will coordinate activities for intensifying economic diplomacy.
The memorandum aims to realize five concrete steps: bringing investors, appointing economic liaisons, presenting the image of Kosovo, presenting Kosovo products outside the country and organizing economic forums.
The Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, declared that economic diplomacy is priority of many big countries, not only of small and new states like Kosovo.
“The first step is presenting the products of Kosovo in the foreign markets, such as Southeastern Europe, the European Union member countries and beyond. The second step is bringing foreign investors to Kosovo. The third step is organizing economic forums inside and outside Kosovo. The fourth step is presenting a real image of Kosovo. The fifth step is appointing economic liaisons in key embassies of Kosovo, who will be a bridge between the Foreign Ministry and all other communes”, Hoxhaj declared.
“Orienting Kosovo in the future is the empowering of the four E-s: Europe, Economy, Education and Environment. The business community will be a powerful voice in accelerating these processes, because we think that we should be the ones to accelerate this process through economic integration”, declared Safet Gerxhaliu, Chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Economy.
The Kosovo Prime Minister visited KCE yesterday where he announced the founding of the 1 billion EUR Employment Fund.
