Election Central Commission (ECC) will allow the opposition to assign their commissioners on Election Committees of Local Administrations (ECLA-s) that will be established regarding May 8th local elections.
The message given by ECC chief Arben Ristani during an interview on VOA emphasized that this action was taken in order to have a more reliable election process.
“ECC will hold a meeting tomorrow, to allow opposition’s commissioners return on duty. ECC was obliged to make an exception because of the arrogant law offence made by the Socialist Party”, Ristani declared.
Asked about socialist commissioner’s stance, who have frequently boycotted the ECC meetings, Ristani considered it as a serious obstacle to many problems encountered during previous elections.
“Opposition commissioners have boycotted ECC meetings, causing a major problem of not being able to release normative acts in all of the territory, based on OSCE ODHIR observations. We need five votes for the normative acts, and because of the boycott we haven’t been able to accomplish this duty”, Ristani confirmed.
As for May 8th preparations, ECC chairman underlined that this institution has concluded all logistic operations.
“As for the logistic operations, we have concluded the preparative works. Tenders are over and we are waiting the materials from the respective companies. The situation has been regular until now. We have taken our measures and now we hope that our partners will also be punctual”, he added.
