Earth movements in Zharra

The former Albpetrol President, Maksim Shuli, declared for Top Channel that the earth tremors in this area are caused by the Canadian Company “Bankers Petroleum” which operates there for several years. According to Shuli, the water that is injected in the oil wells is mixed with glycerin, which causes the explosion.

“The agreement between Bankers Petroleum and Albpetrol says hat the water that comes out of the wells must return again in the layers. The water cannot be returned easily, but when you mix it with glycerin it will force itself in and we have these micro-earthquakes as a result”, Shuli declared.

The residents’ protests that continue for several years have intensified, while the Director of the National Agency of Natural Resources (NANR) says that they would establish a working group for verifying the residents’ claims.

Shuli explains that a monitoring group that must be depended from the Ministry of Energy must see the process and come out with a declaration. If Bankers Petroleum doesn’t implement the agreement, they must be penalized.

“As an expert I say that this is a wrong decision by Bankers Petroleum. The residents must be compensated and the company must find other ways to insert this quantity of water inside the layer”, Shuli declared.

Maksim Shuli thinks that the Canadian Company has been obliged to compensate the residents, most of whom have health problem due to the cancerous substances released in the air.

The Bankers Petroleum representatives, contacted by Top Channel, declare that this claim is a great absurdity, and that all materials that are imported for the oil production have been declared to the NANR.

The water is injected to the oil layers for not polluting the environment, after it comes out with the extraction process. The geo-science institution declares on the official web pages that the tremors are natural earthquakes.

SP: Government stays silent for Patos Marinza

The Socialist MP, Armando Subashi, accused the government of being indifferent towards the danger that the residents are facing near the Patos-Marinza area.

Subashi says that the government and all respective institutions must take the necessary measures and condemn the explosions, but no one reacted.

“The Patos-Marinza area has had a another strong explosion that terrified the residents. Yesterday there was a reaction from the respective institutions, the Ministry of Economy, the Interior Ministry, the Majority’s MPs in Fier and the Prime Minister, but no one answered to the residents.
