The government has decided that the Milot-Balldren and Orikum-Dukat roads, part of the 1-billion-EUR program, will have a total cost of 337.2 million EUR.
“Ank sh.p.k” and “Bardh Konstruksion” have calculated a total cost of 256.4 million EUR for 17.2 km from Milot to Balldren.
The “Gjikuari” concessionary demands 80.8 million EUR for the Orikum-Dukat road. The cost of expropriations has not been decided yet.
Different from the other concessionaries, these agreements will be voted in Parliament.
The concessionary agreements will last 13 years and will include maintenance as well.
The Albanian PM, Edi Rama, responded to the accusations about the high price of the road. He said that the concessionary includes the road’s maintenance for 13 years, unlike the Durres-Kukes road which did not.
The two opposition parties, DP and SMI, have rushed to call this a corruptive decision.
The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, swore that the Milot-Balldren would be scrapped off as soon as they come into power.
