Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Around 29% of deaths and 32% of injures in our country are caused by high speed and aggressive behavior of car drivers.
But the fatal accidents of the recent days have shown that it is a necessity to have companies to intervene with a maintenance tax paid by the citizens for the roads.
The Public Health institution expert, Boris Miska, underlined that it is very important to stop the citizens from removing the side rails.
“The signs must be complete and we must intervene through force for not allowing people damage the road signals. There are irresponsible people who break the side rails and the road signs. They must respond for their acts”, Miska declared.
Statistics show that 38.5% of the deaths in the last two years were caused by new inexperienced drivers. In these hot summer days, the number of vehicles that travel the Albanian roads has increased, causing more accidents.
The data show that 40% of fatal accidents could have been avoided if the passengers would have kept their safety belt on. Albanian roads are more unsafe than developed European countries.
