n Amsterdam Court approved the request from justice authorities to extradite Arben Frroku in Albania after an Appeal Court in Albania has convicted with lifetime in prison for the murder of police chief officer Dritan Lamaj.

Within two weeks Frroku has the right to appeal the verdict and if it remains in power than the Dutch Interior Minister will sign his extradition to Albania. While Frroku has stated that his life is in danger in Albania do to blood feuds, the Court argued prisons in the country are safe enough and in any case it is not the court’s competence to decide for this matter, but that of the Ministri of Justice of the Kingdom of Netherlands.

The Court said the first request for Frroku’s extradition arrived in the Netherlands on May 4 2016, while three months later Dutch authorities received the full legal documentation including the court’s verdict declaring him guilty of the murder of Lamaj. The court also stated the defense attorney has not been able to convince the court that the verdict on Frroku in Albania was politically influenced.

After been declared innocent for the murder of Lamaj, Frroku left Albania some days before an appeal court overturned the verdict. He was arrested on April this year after a routine control from the Cutch police who arrested him while having a false identity as Renato Tsepa.
