Dutch ambassador: Electoral reform to be concluded

The Dutch Ambassador in Tirana, Van den Dol, expressed his disappointment for the way how the Albanian President was elected.
“I respect Bujar Nishani as a politician, but I was disappointed by the way he was elected as Albania’s new President. The international community asked an all inclusive process for the President, but it was partial”, Van den Dol declared.
The Ambassador gave this declaration from Voskopoja, from where he underlined that Albania has fulfilled only 12 of the EU criteria for the status, that of the Ombudsman.
“Politics is losing even the third deadline for completing the electoral reform, therefore this process must be concluded before the Parliament starts the new session”, the Ambassador declared.
