40% of the persons who occupy Durres beach with private sunbeds are
illegal. This was the outcome of a control by the Durres Regional Tax
Directory, the Police and the local administration.

Meanwhile, 80% of those who have legal contracts have exceeded the legal space of 200 meters.

The illegal sunbeds were seized and the subjects that have exceeded the contracts were fined. This operation has included the demolition of tubes that pour sewage waters at sea. In a demonstrative way, the police dug the sand and pulled out the tubes in front of the holiday makers who are resting in the hotels that are destroying the coastline.

These actions will extend in other Durres and Kavaja beaches, aiming to fight back informality and abuses.
