Durres, car graveyards reappear

A few months have passed since the government issued a decision for
removing car graveyeards one km from national roads, but a simple
observation shows that many of them have returned in the previous
places, by ignoring the decisions of the authorities.

Along the roads that connect Durres with Tirana, Kavaja and Rrogozhina, the presence of subjects that trade broken car parts is very visible, while many of them have changed the name of the business with signs saying “Car Service”.

The Regional Agency of Environment in Durres admits that the phenomenon can be seen sporadically, but no inspection has been undertaken by the subjects that exert their duty without an environmental permit.

Last Autumn, only in the Durres district were identified 32 car graveyeards near the national roads, most of which conducted illegal activities and without environmental permits. The government decision obliged their removal, but as it randomly happens in Albania, the car graveyards reappeared after the wave of inspections.
