Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
Domestic violence remains a serious problem for the Albanian society, becoming a more sensitive issue for the public opinion.
The domestic violence mostly affects women, regardless education, economic level or cultural identity. The Durres Court releases 4 to 5 protection orders each week for women who are threatened by violent acts. This phenomenon is present in all social classes, followed by several psychological, physical, social and economic problems.
The local administration in Durres organized activities supported by PNUD, with the participation of all institutions and several local and central institutions. The forum “Family without violence – peaceful society” was followed by the opening of the job fair.
This activity was conceived as one more possibility for the members of this manifestation, coordinated for discussing the challenges and achievements in managing the cases and resolving the different problems they have. Dozen parts of a mosaic built in front of the “Alexander Moisiu” Culture Palace involved the Durres citizens in this protest.
