170 kg of Marijuana was seized at the Ancona port, where three Albanian
citizens have been arrested in two different anti-drug operations that
were held during the same day.
First the police inspected a ferry that was coming from Greece, transporting two large marble blocks. Within the blocks were hidden 156 kg of marijuana. The drivers were arrested for international traffic of narcotic substances. The Carabinieri then stopped another vehicle that was driven by an Albanian citizen.
The anti-drug dog had given signs of something suspicious, and after the intervention of the specialists, they removed 13 kg of marijuana, which were placed in an empty gas cylinder. The investigators declared that the drug was packaged and hidden by professionals. Its market value reaches millions of euros.
