Drug seized at Durres port

Another quantity of hashish has been seized last night as result of an
anti-drug police operation at the Durres Port, while the person who had
it in possession is under custody.
107 kg of narcotics, divided in 99 packages, was hidden in the floor of a truc that was entering on of the Durres-Bari ferry.
The drug was seized at the vehicle inspection department after checking the Volvo truck, driven by the 45-year-old Bardhyl Dumi, from Vishaj, Tirana.
The driver was arrested on the spot, while the police are working for finding the origin and the destination of the drug, and the identity of the other people involved in this illegal traffic.
Albania remains among the countries that produce illegal narcotic plants, also police has frequently seized large quantity in many cases.
