Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The water level at the Fierza Lake is increasing rapidly. Recent
information from the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH) suggest that the
water level in the biggest dam of the country has reached 6.5 meters
under the maximal level.
The level rose with 2.5 meters only in the past 24 hours, due to the heavy rains. KESH says that compared to yesterday, the situation today is much worse. The water flow in Fierza has increased with 60%, reaching 1700 cubic meters per second, from 110 that it was this Thursday, when the doors opened.
The Vau i Dejes HPP, where the cascade reaches an end, is filled to 75.68% of its capacity and the water flow is 1300 cubic meters per second. This hydropower plant has a flow of 1350 cubic meters per second, 550 meters of which are produced by the turbines, while the rest is discharged from the open gates.
CEZ: Power supply, under control
The power distribution company announced that despite the bad weather, the energy situation is under control.
CEZ says that the defects have been repaired in a record time and the entire country has regular power supply, besides the two isolated cases in Lezhe and Berat. CEZ directors say that these defects are to be repaired very soon. Some areas ahd problems last night, after water flooded power stations.
