Drews: North, solution through dialogue

The KFOR commander, Erhard Drews, declared that the Northern Kosovo situation should be resolved through political dialogue.

However, the German general did not exclude the possibility of having KFOR troops intervening in the situation.

“In the days to come, KFOR will train for removing the roadblocks”, Drews declared.

The Commander did not give a date, but he said that KFOR expects the Serbs to remove them by themselves.

“We will wait to see if the roadblocks will be removed as result of a dialogue between parties”, Drews added.

Drews returned to Prishtina after a visit in Brussels, where he received suggestions from the NATO leaders for the way to react on the Northern Kosovo situation.

Referring to the situation in this part of the new country, the NATO Parliament leader, Karl Lamers, declared that the Alliance will review the plans for reducing troops in Kosovo.
