PD representative Albana Vokshi today denounced what according to her were government abusive contracts for the purchase of medical equipment against the Covid-19 epidemic.
“Oxygen respirators were bought at twice the market price. The winning company violated the contract, it brought 5 respirators instead of 54, but the government did not take any measures “, said among other facts Albana Vokshi.
“The prosecution should come out of quarantine and investigate the theft of Albanians with secret contracts. The government thieves must be brought to justice,” Vokshi added.
Further on in her statement she affirmed:
“Secret contracts for anti-COVID hospital equipment have been used by the government as a way to steal Albanians instead of ensuring their health. From the 4 contracts that are kept secret, we have discovered scandalous thefts in 3 of them, for testing kits, masks and other protective equipment, and today we will publish the facts about the latest theft with the respirators contract, awarded to the predetermined and preferred winner of the government.
“We have proven that the kits for a test were purchased by the government at 4 times the market price from O.E.S. Distribution, but the Minister of Health and her boss Edi Rama are silent about this scandal.
“We found that protective masks and other hospital supplies were purchased by the government at 2, 3 and 4 times the market price. The government has bought a mask for 8 thousand old lek, from the companies Farmanet and Euromed, while the citizens can buy it for 4 thousand lek in every pharmacy. Minister Ogerta Manastirliu is silent, along with Edi Rama.
“Surely Rama will remain silent even today in an attempt to hide from the scandal that has erupted in his hands with his secret contracts. But the facts are there. He bought a respirator at twice the price, bought test kits at 4 times the price, bought masks and other protective equipment at 2-3 times the market price, and gave the infectious disease doctors expired masks.
Citizens are suffering not only from the virus, but also from a corrupt government and a failed prime minister. The prosecution must get out of quarantine, where the government holds it. The SPAK has enough evidence to bring to justice the government thieves, who make themselves rich while the health and work of the citizens are in danger”.
