Former DP Prime Minister Sali Berisha spoke today before the Democrats in Fier on the 31st anniversary of the founding of the city branch, where he asked for support in his cause against the current chairman of the DP, Lulzim Basha.

Berisha said that Basha is a person with major human morality issues and described him as a “liar”.

“I ask for your reasoning and attention, but especially for all those members and supporters of the Democratic Party who did not become part of this process. This is not a position issue. What did he (Basha) tell us 2 months ago? He said that the Assembly does not dismiss him because the membership has voted for him, but with your signature, 44 thousand Democrats signed for his dismissal “, said Berisha.

“Now he forgot everything and declared that ‘I do not recognize the Assembly’, I do not recognize the referendum in which, against him voted 10,000 Democrats more than in June for his reelection.”

Berisha also spoke about the protest called on January 8 for the dismissal of Basha, mentioning the fact that the Re-establishment Group was today at the PD headquarters but they found the doors locked.

“January 8th is a historic date, for the DP and for Albania because for the first time in the history of this nation, for the first time in the history of a political force, that the supreme decision of the referendum and membership is implemented through a peaceful protest by PD membership itself.”

“In the most shameful act, similar to those of the secret terrorist police offices, this man returned and put new reinforced doors on the PD headquarters, transforms it like the offices of the Enver Hoxha’s internal affairs branches”, said Berisha referring to the former communist dictator of Albania.
