DP leader Lulzim Basha in a press release called for increased tests of COVID 19 stressing that this is the only possibility to control the pandemic.

Describing the situation Basha said citizens have not yet received the salary compensations set by the government, while thousands of businesses are being forced to go bankrupt.

DECLARATION OF DP HEAD, LULZIM BASHA
Dear fellow citizens!

I am grateful to you for this great sacrifice you are making since the last 5 weeks.
We made this sacrifice in the name of life and love for one another.
But while you have sacrificed so much, unfortunately the help and support you need to get from the state has been lacking.
The situation in the country is getting worse by the day. The economy is collapsing, factories have begun to be massively affected by Covid-19, thousands of citizens have lost their jobs and their daily bread. Tens of thousands of businesses risk bankruptcy.

Convinced that nothing is more important than the health and lives of citizens, we have been strongly committed from day one by proposing ideas and solutions for both health emergencies and economic emergencies.
Citizens were ordered to stay home and businesses closed, but no measures were taken to support them financially for this sacrifice. Some lately half-steps that have been announced have not yet been implemented, and people have not yet received their support money.

The second aid package was to be distributed today, but that too was just an empty promise.

Citizens who now have to pay increased electricity and water bills are still without any income today.

Businesses are closing thousands of jobs because they have no support.
Albanians have paid taxes, excises and fees among the highest with the Rama government. These taxes should help them today.

People do not ask for alms – in these times of national emergency it is their right to receive financial assistance from the state budget!
The money is there, but Rama chooses that they go for corrupt tenders and concessions, and not for citizens.
Citizens should immediately receive the financial assistance they deserve!
