DP: Voting Leskaj for avoiding crisis

The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party decided to vote the
proposal of the Albanian President, Bamir Topi, for the head of the
Supreme State Audit.

The decision for approving the candidacy of Bujar Leskaj was followed without any enthusiasm by the democratic MPs.

The Prime Minister’s argument in front of the Democratic MPs has apparently been cold, as his relations with Bujar Leskaj, after removing him as Minister of Culture and Tourism in 2007. The MP declared for Top Channel that PM Berisha has decided to defend Leskaj’s candidacy for two reasons: first, for not leaving the Supreme State Audit in crisis and secondly, for not deepening the conflict with the President until July, for the next Presidential elections.

A few days ago, the Democratic Party voted against the first candidacy of President Topi for the SSA, while the Socialist Party abstained. This time, when the Majority approved the new candidacy, the opposition declared since the beginning that they would vote against.

Berisha: Opposition’s boycott blocked integration

PM Berisha’s key words in today’s Democratic Party group meeting was his visit in France and the meetings held with the leaders in many different activities.

Berisha declared that he mentioned Albania’s potentials in Paris, for the energy area, and received a strong support for cooperation.

“I updated the French authorities for the latest developments in Albania, the new steps that are being taken for the future of the country and the establishment of the Commission for the Electoral Reform”, Berisha declared.

In his speech, Berisha underlined that the opposition’s boycott did not damage only the government, but also the candidate status for Albania in the EU.
