The Democratic Party reacted after the declaration of the Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, regarding the OSCE/ODIHR report.
The General Secretary of the DP, Gazmend Bardhi, said that the interpretation made by Edi Rama’s spokesperson are wrong and cannot be found in the report.
“The report doesn’t specify that the elections were democratic, legitimate and based on international standards. It It is the first time that the report on local elections in Albania specifies that the actions of the government and of other institutions, from the Prosecution to the Courts, go against the law”, Bardhi declared.
He added that the opposition cannot be responsible because the Central Election Commisison has violated the law of the state.
