DP: “Police officials implicated in drug traffic”

The Democratic Party secretary for Public Security, Enkelejd Alibeaj,
continued his accusations for key public officials involved in the
criminal drug traffic business.

“Qerim Aliaj, Border Director in Shkoder, implicated in the drug traffic through Montenegro. When he worked at the Gjirokaster border he organized the apssage of drugs in Greece. Aliaj has closed cases three times, after huge quantities of cannabis have been seized”, Alibeaj declared.

Another name, according to him, is Gezim Zhupa, border Director in Vlore. “He has close relations with the Minister of Interior, a key link in passing tons of drugs to Italy with fishing vessels”.

“Sokol Celaj, regional Border Director in Vlore, suspended in 2002. He was returned in 2013 and leads the traffic of cocaine and heroine in cooperation with Albert Pata, former Director of the Operational Unit”, Alibeaj declared.

He underlined that this unconfirmed information comes from partner authorities. Another name he mentioned was Artion Duka, Director of the Special Operational Force. DP say he is tied to Emiliano Shullazi, and that he has manipulated evidence for the crimes in Kashar and Rruga e Kavajes, Tirane, a few years ago.

Among the other names are Ermal Muca, Arben Skendo, Taulant Kondi, Genc Merepeza and Zija Cela.
