Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Democratic Party appealed the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, to allow
the Socialist MPs to vote on August sixth for the immunity lifting.
In a press conference, the spokesperson of the DP, Silvi Bardhi, underlined that the Socialist Party should follow the example of the Slovakian left opposition that voted in favor of the immunity lifting.
“The DP invites Mr. Rama to follow the example of the Slovakian left parties and remove the immunity on August sixth. Every Albanian is waiting to throw down the corruption wall, because they want equality. They don’t want the high rank officials to be defended from the immunity for penal acts. The citizens expect for their elected MPs to bring down the corruption wall and work beyond their personal interests”, the Spokesperson underlined.
“The Democratic Party appeals Mr. Rama to work beyond the illegal interests of a small billionaire group at the Socialist Party and allow the Socialist MPs to vote on August sixth and for bringing down the corruption wall that increases the poverty of this country, that deepens the pessimism and desperation, that cuts the hopes of the unemployed and that hampers the deserved pension increase for the elders, and that often leaves our citizens without justice in court”, the declaration says.
