The IMF Chief for Albania, Anita Thurludhar, and the permanent
representative of IMF in Albania, Jens Reinke, met this Friday with the
DP leader, Lulzim Basha.
Thuludhar and Reinke valued the opposition’s role for supervising the government during the past years, while Basha declared that the economic crisis that has wept the country can be seen by the law debt leve, 71% of the GDP; low level of collecting revenues, and basedn on the large number of Albanians leaving the country, who, according to the DP, are 270.000 in total.
Basha also underlined that unemployment among youth remains high, businesses have decreased their activity and foreign investments have dropped to a very small level, reducing this way the number of employers.
“In these conditions, the Democratic Party will support another program with the IMF, which requires more control due to the economic situations and fiscal balances created by the corruptive project of concessions”, Basha declared.
