DP leader Basha meets with Russian ambassador

Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha hosted Russian Ambassador in Tirana Alexander Karpushin. Bashe addressed Ambassador Karpushin’s interest for political developments in Albania while himself declared the basics of Russia’s foreign policy is not to interfere in internal affairs of other countries.

Basha and Karpushin also exchanged opinions for latest development in the region. DP leader insisted recognition of Kosovo’s independence and support for full implementation of Ohrid Agreement in Macedonia would open a new chapter on bilateral relations between Albania and Russia.

On the other hand, Ambassador Karpushin said Russia considers there are still unexploited opportunities of economic cooperation between the two countries and hopes in the future both parties will work towards that direction.
