After a meeting of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group and their
allies, the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, announced the decision for
presenting the legal and constitutional amends for the decriminalization
of the Parliament and the administration.
“The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, together with our allies, has decided to publish our proposition for the constitutional and legal amends, in order to leave out of the Albanian Parliament and out of any other public office, any person with a criminal history. Our best experts worked hard and now are ready to continue with our decriminalization platform, together with the Albanian citizens. We wand a full engagement of the Parliament Members from the majority, cooperation for the agreement, even if they have to go against the political orders of their leaders”, declared the Democratic Party leader.
The majority, according to Basha, has only two ways: “A full decriminalization of the Parliament and of other public institutions through the legal amends, or the confrontation with the popular protest of our citizens in the Albanian squares.
The opposition leader underlined that they will demand an approval for the amends presented on January 20th for reducing the energy and fuel price.
