The opposition used as an argument for not voting the Vetting Law the anti-constitutionality of some main articles of this law.

One week after the law passed with the votes of the majority only, the Democratic Party has not decided if they will appeal the vetting at the Constitutional Court or not.

Top Channel learned that the opposition experts are making a constitutional analyze of the law and are expected to finalize it very soon. Official sources confirmed that after this, the opposition will publish the steps that are needed to be taken. And this doesn’t exclude the sending of the case at the Constitutional Court.

This is the option that might prevail, because the Democratic Party experts are saying they have identified some points that, according to them, go against the Constitution.

However, since their decision has not been announced, the sending of the Vetting Law at this Court might cause harsh reactions from the US partners, who have taken authorship of the law and consider it a key element of the justice reform implementation.

This silence from the Democratic Party coincides with another decision that needs to be taken by the President of the Republic.

In parallel with the Democrats, the law is being analyzed by the legal experts of the presidency, who also need to give president Nishani a result within the next week.

Top Channel has learned that the President will decide if he will return the law for review in Parliament within September 16th, day on which he will travel to the UN Assembly.
