The Albanian Democratic Party accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and the
Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, of violating the law by engaging the
police in the missions about illegal constructions.
“The Prime Minister and his Interior Minister are using the state police through illegal, illogical and unwritten orders. The Police effectives are being obliged to go door to door, although it is not their duty, by taking competences of other institutions, such as the Construction Inspectorate”, declared Parliament Member Arben Ristani.
According to the Democratic Party, the orders to include the police in blocking or demolishing illegal constructions are not only illegal, but also politically motivated and come after Rama’s electoral promise to legalize them for free. Ristani also showed some photos during the press release.
“The police goes close to this apartment building and many others that we will report each day, and they close their eyes, because they have been built by the Socialist Parliament Members and their relatives”, Ristani declared.
“By expressing once again our support to the rule of law, and also the State police in its duties, the Democratic Party asks the government and the Interior Minister to stop this political discrimination and persecution, and the illegal usage of state institutions. Everyone is equal before the law, even Saimir, Koco, Sadri and every other citizen of the Albanian republic”, the Democratic Party Parliament Member declared.
