DP files three referendum requests at CEC

The Democratic Party filed today three requests for local referendums.
The requests are for the underground parking at the “Rinia Park”, the
building of social-cultural and administrative buildings on the sides of
the Polytechnic University, and the building of a playground inside the
Artificial Lake Park.
The Democratic Party say these objects may be built in alternative areas, by not damaging anymore the green spaces of Tirana.
“It is necessary for the citizens of Tirana to give their vote on these matters, since the Municipality has not consulted them and has not been transparent as regards the environmental impact”, the DP says.
The request was filed at the Central Election Commission by the Environment Department and some DP members of the Municipal Council.
