DP files request for Parliamentary investigation of Surveillance case

11/07/2016 00:00

The Democratic Party filed a request for establishing an investigative
commission with what they call “state crime of illegal surveillance”.

The vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for National Security, Flamur Noka, said that it has been proven that the surveillance equipment “IMSI Catcher” has entered our country on March and was used for the interests of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Noka said that although this crime is under investigation by the Prosecution, a full Parliamentary investigation is necessary because it would bring to light the circumstances and facts in a time when Edi Rama is criminally pressuring the justice, to close the case.

He underlined that the purpose of the commission will be to investigate the facts, evidence and circumstances that prove how the IMSI Catcher equipment was used by the state police.
