The Democratic Party secretary for public relations, Grida Duma,
declared this Tuesday that the government education reform has failed,
as the opposition had warned.
“The education reform failed, as we had foreseen. Edi Rama produced an irreparable damage for the future of high-school graduates who should have entered a state university, but they couldn’t, despite their high grades. They don’t know how their average grade was calculated”, Duma said.
According to the DP, the students were not oriented to the preferential majors they wanted to continue before filling the application, and were not informed about the alternative subjects they could select, and the importance of each of them in the final calculations.
According to Duma, the government tried to shift the blame to universities, but students accuse PM Rama and Minister Lindita Nikolla.
“They were betrayed, because the rules were changed just before the final year was over. Rama and Nikolla killed the merits of every high-school graduate, they planted chaos, made transparency disappear and put universities on an disoriented path, favoring this way their clients of private universities. They hide today behind empty declarations, but these two lied to our youth, ignored them and despised them”, Duma added.
