The Democratic Party and the SMI have joined forces at the Durres Municipal Council, rejecting the package of local taxes and fees for 2018.
The package reduced several taxes for rural residents and fuel businesses, but the DP and SMI councilors proposed even lower taxes and zeroing several of them for citizens.
The Democrats also proposed to not increase the fee of private beaches during the summer season, but none of the propositions was taken in consideration by the Mayor.
This is the first time that the SMI joined votes with the Democratic Party in a local level.
