Dozens of accidents at fatal crossroad

The crossroad between the Road of the Nation and the under construction Lezhe-Fushe Kruje highway has turned into a fatal trap.
The recent accident happened with a Kosovo family that was visiting Albania for the holidays. A 10 year old girl died this Monday in this crossroad, and three other children were injured. The injured were sent at the nearest hospital.
One day after this tragedy, there is no traffic police in this crossroad. The vehicles that come from Kosovo must pass in one of the most dangerous roads in the entire country. The danger comes from the construction works that have continued from days, the lack of road signs and the traffic violations. Residents are witnesses of the massacres that take place in this area.
Every week, more than 80.000 Kosovo citizens enter Albania, and all of them have to pass in this crossroad. There are dozens of thousands of other vehicles there, but it remains far from the road standards and still provokes tragic accidents, without receiving any attention from the police.
