The “Inside Story” program brought details on Wednesday about how the confession of testimony, Mariglen Shusha, was treated with double standards in Albania.
One standard was applied for former prosecutor of Vlora, Maksim Sota, who is mentioned by him as Robert Myftari’s contact in the justice system, while another was applied to Eneid Nakuçi.
Prosecutor Maksim Sota was arrested on account of the investigation of the “Shpirti” file related to drug trafficking, while prosecutor Eneid Nakuçi was appointed to the SPAK prosecutor’s office. Doubts that the investigations in Albania have been diverted are increased by the fact that in the Albanian investigative file, the name of Prosecutor Eneid Nakuçi is not mentioned at all, despite the fact that in the testimony given to the Italian authorities, Mariglen Shusha mentions him as “the contact to use in order to enable the transfer of the file
from the Prosecution of Serious Crimes in Tirana to that of the city of Vlora”.
In order to carry out this transfer, according to Shuha’s testimony, the citizen Ilirjan Duçkollari, known for short as ‘Lani’, was contacted.
The latter had contact at the prosecutor’s office in Vlora, with prosecutor Maksim Sota, and apparently, in Vlora, it was easier for them to close the file through Sota.
On November 25, 2016, the investigation against Robert Myftari was suspended, even though documents linking him to him were found in the drug boat. Meanwhile, on July 10, 2017, the file was suspended as it was not possible to identify the traffickers.
So Mariglen Shusha’s testimony fully matches what actually happened.
The file was suspended and the investigations against Myftari were terminated.
