Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The World Weightlifting Federation suspended the Albanian weightlifter, Erkand Qerimaj, for four years.
The Federation also removed his European Champion title that he won in Antalya, Turkey.
The 24-year-old resulted positive in the anti-doping tests. According to the Federation, Qerimaj has been found with the presence of “metyl hexanamine” in his body, which is prohibited since 2011.
According to the Federation, these substances are found in foods that are designed to increase energy or lose power.
Qerimaj made a sudden test one day before the European Championship, and one after he left the race.
In both of the tests, Qerimaj declared that he had been using Body Surge vitamins. The result of the first test was negative, while the second was positive.
