The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, has received a congratulatory message from the US President, Donald Trump, for the 105th anniversary of independence.
The full letter was published on the President’s website:
“Dear Mr.President, while you celebrate the 105th anniversary of independence on November 28th, the people of the USA joins you and congratulates the people of Albania.
On this special day we reconfirm our strong friendship and commitment towards Albania, and we expect to make this relation even stronger in the years to come.
Our nations have developed a deep cooperation that has allowed us to work together on matters of global importance.
We thank you for your role as a decisive partner in promoting regional stability and for fighting extremism, and we also thank you for your support around the world as a NATO ally and member of the coalition for destroying ISIS.
We welcomed this year the implementation of key judiciary reforms in Albania, which have brought your country closer to the purpose for joining the EU and for having more cooperation in the region. We praise Albania’s progress with the Euro-Atlantic integration processes, and with securing peace and prosperity for all Albanians.
We are with you as you celebrate on this special day, and I wish to You and to the Albanian people all the best for the next year”, says the message of US President Donald Trump.
