US Ambassador in Albania Donald Lu met with business leaders of the American Chamber to express what expectations his country has towards Albania during this year.
“2017 will be a splendid year for Albania. It is the year when the country will begin the implementation of the justice reform, which will forever transform business environment for all of you. It will also be an electoral year, which will put Albania on a democratic course for 4 years of political stability towards a European future”, Lu said.
But he also mentioned what lately has been a hot topic in Albania, war on drugs and crime. “2017 will be the year that the US and EU will support Albania overcome the huge challenge of organized crime and illegal drugs. This will create more opportunities for honest businessmen. It will also be the year when Albania will fight corruption on the highest levels by creating special anti corruption bodies and the National Bureau of Investigation”, he added.
