Divjake, record in watermelon export
07/06/2012 00:00
The agricultural productions of Divjaka are competing with the Balkan
and European productions. The warm climate has caused the watermelon to
be ripe earlier, and has allowed the Lushnje and Divjaka area to export
considerable quantities of vegetables.
Every day, 200 tons of watermelons are collected and transported to neighboring countries, even to the Czech Republic and Hungaria. According to the buyers, the demand is bigger than the capacities.
But another problem is the standard. Another novelty for this year is the export of melons, which in the last years found no place in the European market. 6.000 tons of agricultural goods are expected to be exported until July.
